PICS of re-painted rear window trim. . .

I know a lot of people gripe about the lower trim on the 4th gen rear window rusting out. People have been asking for pics of what they look like re-painted. . .so here ya go. I did this like a year ago, and it has held up just fine:

A $3 can of spray paint sure beats $80 from Honda, at least in my opinon.

I used a stiff wire brush that you insert into a drill. Works fairly well. I also used some steel wool and acetone to clean the surface prior to painting. Just make sure to mask EVERYTHING in the area, and I think you have to open the trunk to get at parts of the trim to strip them (if memory serves).

I left it on the car when I did it because I couldnt figure out how to get it off. I think I just used some basic flat black high temp enamel spray paint (it gets fairly hot in the summer months).

Yes. If you dont, the rust will continue to eat away at it, and your new paint will look like ass.

that looks nice man. yea mine are all fuk up and rusted out and so is my brothers. the dealer wanted like about 130 for it and i was like damn for piece of plastic. i was wondering how do you guys take that rear piece off....? i took all the screws out but it still wouldn't budge. do you must yank that sh*t out? and if doing so does it fit back in the normal position perfectly or other wise? and does it prevent from water gettin in the trunk? thanx.

do you must take it off to put the electrical tape on or just tape over it?

Does the tape eventually fail and fall off? Mine hasn't started to rust YET, but I have a 96, so that may help.

I got a question for you kind of off the topic of the weather stripping, but still a rust issue.
i have a 96 VTEC, and the sunroof has started develop a small rust spot on the front edge near the passenger side . it hasnt gone thru the paint yet, but the paint is bubbling up on me. it is about the size of a dime right now. i wax my baby every other weekend, but i think the florida sea breeze is just to strong (i live right on the beach). anyway i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem, and if you all had anyidea on how much it would caost to fix and have (proffesionally repainted) or would it be worth it to save up and have the entire car repainted (red paint is starting to turn pink on me as well )
anyway sorry for the long post,
thanks for any help you can offer up
Monas
