pics of my Brembo X-drilled/Slotted rotors

I finally had the chance to take a few pics after the intall last month. First off, thanks to Prelude2005 and Marcucci for the write-up on the install. With their write-up on NTPOG.org it was very easy to do. The only problem I ran into was getting the old rotors off. After we removed the Hub retaining screws the rotors just wouldn't come off and took a long time to get off thanks to many blows with a rubber mallet.

I couldn't be happier with the rotors. Fade seems to be reduced and my steering wheel is no longer shaking. They also look great (a little tiny behind my 18's but it was worth the money).

Thanks also to $$lude for telling me where I can host them.

Front Rotors

Back Rotors which are matching Bradi rotors since Brembos aren't available.

Side shot

Some others while I'm at it

Sorry for so many but it's been a while since I had new pics of her.

Mark

muhaha, we roole! Mark and I went on a brake run a couple months back, we got them off groupbuycenter.com it was a good price, came with cadmium plating? I think? Anyway, no rust what so ever even till today, I have had mine installed over 5 months now. Great braking, can stop in a heart beat. Only thing that stops me, and im sure Mark are tires

You'll be there Andy, no doubt in my mind!

It just takes time, patience and MONEY. I've had the car over three years not counting my Previous 93 SI 4WS, and it finally is in the state it is now.

Thanks Padge!

U.K. - Thanks also. I made Nick (shadowzz) a deal, I'll keep my car as long as he keeps his so she isn't going anywhere for a while

DJ- I know, they look so TINY behind the wheels, but they are definitely an improvement over the stock rotors and cheaper compared to a whole Big Brake upgrade. I'm surprised you didn't have anything else to say WAWA because I know how you feel about 4th gens with Big Mouth kits and Red cars in general.

They are sitting in my garage right now, but I'm not sure if you would want them because I think my steering wheel was shaking before (suggesting that they were probably warped).

Also, As I mentioned, we had a hard time getting the rotors off and we were hammering the one rotor with a metal hammer and my brother made a few indentions on the passenger rotor (side that faces the engine so it isn't visible). I'm not sure if the indentions hinder performance any.

The drivers side front and the rears are fine because we started to use a rubber mallet.

If you're interested you can have them for free to experiment with. Just give me some shipping money and they are yours. They are heavy!

You didn't try the 8mm bolt? If they have some dents then I don't want them. Probably more hassle than it is worth. I don't know if they could be turned enough to get the dents out.

Andy, yes we did use the 8mm bolt which was supposed to separate the rotor from the hub. I even bought hex heads so I could use my socket wrench and really get a lot of torque to break the seal. No such luck. It definitely made contact with the hub but it didn't make a difference, they were fused onto the hub and required a lot of elbow grease to get off.

Like I said there is only one that has the dents, the others are fine. Turning the one probably won't get the dents out. It's up to you if you want them.

Ludedude, my wheel only shook when braking at highway speeds. If I was at about 65-70 and applied the brake to get on an exit ramp the wheel would start to shake a little (not bad, but it was noticeable). It didn't shake while the brake was applied at low speeds or while cruising. Only when braking at high speeds.

Hope that helps.

Mark

Mark, influx needs some calipers so I thought I would give him first dibs. He says he split one so I sent him a PM.
