And thanks for the compliment.. it's funny both 4th and 5th genners agree that the base rims look better on 4th gens
It's not hard to do the swap.. it's just replacing the knuckles in the front and the spindles in the rear. I also put the Legend calipers and rotors on.
It's vented.. if it weren't raining I'd go take a pic right now.
Aside from the style, it helps with pulling air through the engine bay from the vaccum it creates when moving, and also lets the engine bay cool down faster from retaining less heat. You can put your hand over it and feel all the heat it lets out even when still.

So how does the rain not get into the engine bay? Or does it, but just not much?

Yea that sucks you didn't realize that till later. I know that if the guy I bought them from had 3 of 1 and 1 of the other, I wouldn't have noticed till I put them on the car either
And rain/water does get into the engine bay, but not onto anything important. the vent sits over the header/space between header and radiator, so it doesn't affect anything electrical.
how much did the parts for the conversion cost you? and how much were the rims? if you dont mind me asking.
I've been kinda considering this but I'm poor and I just want some cheap rims.
btw, the lines of the hood are fine, they flow great. but its the color difference that turns me off. in these pics it just looks like 2 different colors. just my .02.

I'm I missing something, or aren't those 4th Gen SE rims? If so, how'd you get a set with 5 bolt holes? I love the conversion, if I had some time, money and even the slightest mechanical inclination, I'd try it, but back to the rims ... am I missing something?

those are off a base 5G. He swapped knuckles to use a 5 lug pattern wheel.
Thanks for the compliments guys.. much appreciated.
As for the color 'difference' everyone is pointing out, it's because the hood is Carbon Fiber:
You can't see it in the pics because it was very overcast that day, and rained about 30 min after I took those pics.
And SkyHigh, the spindles/knuckles/rims for the conversion cost me $400, plus everything having to do with the brake upgrade. If you have an S or Si (just saying in general for anyone) you will Need to do a full brake upgrade since you cannot use the same calipers. So either from any H22 powered lude, or Legend or NSX.
*another edit to answer Mr Clifford* - I'm not planning on any new rims in the near future as I'm plenty happy with these. I may try powdercoating them.. after photoshopping what it would look like in a few colors, and maybe leaving a poished lip or something. BUt overall, I'm not getting new rims for a while, just new tires
Well, I apparently have some air still in the lines, because if I pump the brakes once, the responce is greatly improved, but regardless, without a pump, the braking is still excellent. And with that one pump, man, the thing stops like crazy! I'm going to re-bleed the brakes today (monday) and see how that goes.
But if I can get it so that it's as responsive as that second push, they'll be amazing!
