*PICS* ebay intake install/review *PICS*

Took about 15 minutes to put it in, seems to actually have a decent filter! Pretty good welds on the nipples, just had to sand the inside on one of them..

OH MAN is this thing LOUD, and I noticed a little bit of an improvement across the board... after driving it for an hour or so, i pulled over to see how hot things were under the hood since it was a short ram intake.. Near the filter, since its beside the battery, actually isnt hot at all, but up towards the TB side of the pipe, its pretty hot, so i ordered some black header wrap and I am going to wrap the pipe in that, 1) to get ride of some of the heat, and 2) to cover up the polished finish(dont much like it)..

I did some tests with Gtech, and I cant really compare to before the intake because my transmission fluid was so bad I couldnt shift into third at high rpms, so my 0-60 time was awful in the 8's.. since then i put in amsoil 2000 series, did the coolant bypass mod, and the EGR block off, as well as a catch can, new fuel filter, plugs and wires(plugs were so corroded they measured at .60+ gap!).. so im sure all of it made a HUGE difference haha.. well I only did two runs.. the first wasnt that great, didnt launch good and burned out alot of first gear.. got like 7.8xx, second one was decent, could have shifted faster and launched at a higher rpm and slipped the clutch a little more, but I still got a pretty good 7.24!!! I am pretty confident I could knock on 6 seconds door, if not make it to the 6's with some practice..

For the $40 I spent, I am very pleased..

Here are some pics..

well, like i said, I did a full tune up on a 100k mile car.. It had the original spark plug wires, the plugs were REALLY corroded, new fuel filter, pcv valve etc.. as well as free mods.. yep, i did notice a slight difference..

i just ordered neuspeed strut bar, and after I finish the rest of my suspension, I plan on gettin crower cams/springs and safc to tune... should be a pretty nice autox car...
