Picking up my new car tomorrow

I'm picking up my new MazdaSpeed Protege tomorrow which is going to replace my daily driven Civic. I can't wait based on the positive write-ups I've seen about the car over the past few months. I left a deposit 5 months ago and it finally came in.

Don't worry guys, I'm still keeping the Prelude and I'll post some pics of the Prelude next to my spicy orange Speed on Monday.

<----------------very happy camper.

Mark

good luck with your new car...you planning on working on it or leaving it stock? what will probally happen is that you will hook that up and i will see it and want to get one for myself like what happened with the prelude

You bastard. I really like those cars. The one problem with those cars is that they are already fixed up. I am sure you can change the intercooler and turbo, but the suspension, wheels, stereo..etc is already on hit.

Thanks for the good wishes guys ( except for the "bastard" comment ).

I don't plan to mod it at all, it's strictly going to be a daily driver. It is already perfect in my eyes. We really have to watch ourselves in terms of modding if we want to keep the factory warranty we have to be very careful. Mazda used one time use clamps on the tubing of the intercooler so they will know if anyone messes with anything. It will be tough to mod in the begining before MazdaSpeed realeses their line of aftermarket products and lets dealerships install them (that's the only way to keep the factory warranty). I'm sure there will be people who get around it though.

I just wanted a car that looked great, decent price, somewhat quick and handles great. This car fits the criteria just the way it is, so I won't be touching a thing.

Congrats Mark!

I think it's a nice looking and great handling car from what I've read in various mags about it, looks to be a nice setup for AutoX too. So you think you will be able to hang against the boosted Neon coming out with your Protégé?

Glad to hear your keeping the Lude too.

Not at all! That neon sounds like a beast. I can't even say that the Protege will have an edge in the twisties. Even thought the numbers have favored the Protege in the handling department, the Neon isn't that far off.

If the neon was readily available at this time, I probably would have purchased one. I'm happy with the Protege though and I'm sure I'll be even happier when I bring it home and pull it into the garage next to the Prelude.

A red Prelude and an Orange Protege, What else could I ask for!

Thanks again for the kind words guys. I'm glad I'm part of a board where people are open to other cars rather than just what they have. If I would have posted this anywhere else, I probably would have gotten, "why are you getting a Protege."

Sorry if this is a little off topic, but I'm excited and I'll have pics of the car next to the Prelude on Monday

Mark

The Protégé is a way nicer looking car and higher quality car then the Neon will ever be though, for a daily driver its nice IMO.
