PIAA H3 yellow ions in JDM headlights?

Was wondering if anyone with some JDM headlights tried using a set of Yellow Ion H3's from PIAA for their high beam. I wanted to use this bulb for my high beam (inside light) and leave my high beams on, this way, they have that JDM yellow foglight look. Anyone try this? Pics would be nice too....thanks

Well the inside light on the JDM's is an H1 not an H3 so you will have some mounting issues.

Okay...my bad...its an H1. But has anyone tried it? I used to have an Integra and drove with it on all the time and no one complained about it, so i figured that it wouldnt be a problem with this either.

Oh...and another thing, I've read all the threads regarding the high beams now...so which lights go on when I hook up the high beam and turn it on? I know that the h4 has 2 filaments, one for high and one for low, but the one for high is not used right? But instead, the h1 will be used for high? Help me out....thanks

Original JDM headlamp wiring is exactly how our USDM ones are wired, the outside lamp (near corner lamp) is low beams and the inside is wired for high beams. There is no day time driving lamps on our ludes, so you will be blinding traffic around you.

your right. i have mine wired up so the outside h4 bulb is always on high beam. i just never use the low beam. i did the low beam first and it wasnt bright enough for me to see. you could technically wire them up correctly so the h4 is on low beam, then when you hit the high beams, both outside and inside bulbs go on high. this is how it is meant to be done.

i have mine wired outside is both high and low beam..and my inner ones are hooked to a fog light swicth thats off a relay...they dont blind anyone during the day. look good, but im looking at getting the yellow bulbs too, im also putting HIDs on the outer bulb, so it doesnt matter, you def wont need highs with HIDs..peace

Hehe, I mentioned this a few months ago for all the people who dont have fog lights. You can purchase Piaa Yellow Ion H1 bulbs, but you have to get them from the UK or Japan. I have Piaa yellow ion H3s in my fog lights right now, and I was going to put them in my high beams, but I cant get a good enough discount to justify the cost when I never even use my high beams

Yea..i know that they are expensive, but theres another brand on ebay right now that are going for a bit less. I was leaning towards some real HID's from McCullough anyway, but just wasnted to explore some more options. Thanks for everyones input.
