I know it's a $hit load of money, but the way I see it, if you're going to get a radar detector, get a Valentine,

the laser shifter basically jams the laser and gives a false readout.....yeah i get it dirt cheap too....only reason i'm buying it cause i get it cheap.....and btw the new passport 8500 x50 beats the valentine in every catagory except x band which no cop in texas uses....my friend had a valentine.....the logistics on it sucked....you couldn't tell multiple signals very well....it would go off and no auto mute....its basically an outdated design....if you go to radartest.com......basically the valentine can't hang.....when i first bought my passport 3 years ago....i was about to get the valentine but decided not too....now 3 years later i'm still happier with it......the valentine is like bose speakers....good awhile back....now there is better....

I believe that!

I have used both, and I must say it is a VERY ncie feature to have knowing where the radar is coming from, but I love the escorts technology better.

I don't think you can upgrade the old 8500 to x50 status. But the x50 comes in red or blue. Blue is like $30 more than red, for some stupid reason.

YEAH.....I just put my 8500 up for sale and bought the x50 a couple of hours ago. I've already got all the material I need for the blue gauges....now I just have to get them done.

The blue is just the hotness!!!

well just installed half of my zr3........i still need to install the rear sensor thingy.....but overall wasn't a bad install......the longest part was figuring out how to remove the front bumper.....but after some internet searching found the last two bolts holding that thing together......after that simple running wire thru right fender well and thru firewall and splicing into power.....
hopefully i can get pics up once i finished the rest of the zr3 install
