Painting interior centor console....

I want to do my interior of my car... I want to paint the entire center console a silver, and the front piece across the front dash, basically the entire bezel....

The console is out of a 93 SRV, and is a hard plasticy type material, what is the best type of method to use...

Any tips would be appreciated thanks.

I just went to an auto parts store and got some glossy black spray paint. It worked really well, actually. Just make sure you use quick sweeping motions across the console, so nothing drips, or beads up.

I had all day, so I shot it with multiple coats. Make sure you clean the console (i.e., remove all dust, grease, oils, etc.) before doing this.

In principle, this should work for whatever color you are using...if you want, I guess you could go over the console with some fine grain sandpaper to prep it for painting...

this is the best way of doing it... everybody loves the turn out when i do there cars...its looks very professional.. same method the bodyshop use....

1. paint it.... (even coat and no drips)
2. let it completely dry
3. clear coat....( spray couple of coat)
4. let it completely dry
5. lightly sand out the orange peel w/200 grid sandpaper
(use water)
6. sand it again with 2000 grid sandpaper...until nomore orange
peel is seen... (it will look dull)
7. use rubbing compound (3m ) and polish it until it is bright and
shiny...
8. done
