Paint car with or without windsheild

I know painting my 92 prelude Si, it's original color, Milano Red with the windsheild taken out will be a much higher quality finish, and no chance of lifting, than if i left the windsheild in, but do i trust the windsheild installer with my freshly painted car ?

I don't know your windshield installer. I doubt anyone here does... All I'll say is paint it w/o the glass.

Take the windshield out! If the installer scratches the paint, it's on him.

I'd change the side glass along with it, if i were to do that

Do they sell full glass replacement kits for 4th gen. preludes ?

I know its like 160 for the windshield and moulding

If your car has the original windshield moldings or at least they haven't been epoxied in and your windshield doesn't need replaced you can get away with just taking the moldings off. If any of those isn't the case then just replace it.

Side windows IIRC are very difficult to remove and re-install. The rear window can be removed and possibly re-used but if it breaks then obviously you'll have to replace it and its pretty expensive. $400+ IIRC

have it painted without the glass.. I just got a new windshield the other day and I found out that theres a lot or rust where the glass was replaced last time (previous owner) and they messed the paint up, thus leaving exposure for rust to get in, whereas if you get the inside painted, it'll be sealed and no chance for roof rust.. I wish the last owners of my lude woulda done that..

See I have no idea what you guys are talking about. If you have no rust, no leaks, no glass cracks, just take the molding out. You'll have to buy a new one and clips because the old ones kinda shrink over time and are a pita or impossible to get back on right.

I just don't see why you have to get new glass just to paint? :/

^ I mean. When you take the molding/trim piece off you will see that the glass underneath has a whole different level of being sealed.... I painted and didn't even think about taking out the windshield...
