i have seen cars with superchargers and turbos do this, but my friend with the accord says that this will be very effective, i almost thought about doing it. To cool down the IM of course, but my thought is that the injectors are right on top of the IM, so wouldn't that mess it up? Has anyone done this?
why ask such a silly question if so many ppl do it? Either the answer is yes there is an affect or theres alot of drag gurus out there who are absolutely drunk as hell when they drag race.... I think they might have something going on.. I have seen ppl leave them under the hood with a coolant pack thats frozen with a strap tieign it down throughout the whole run...
Call me crazy, but maybe, just maybe there is something too it

An ice pack on the intake manifold does about as much good as a pack of jello. The intake manifold is being heated by the heat soak from contact with the head, egr gases and coolant flowing through it. The ice pack might cool down the outside surface of the manifold (hardly actually) but it does nothing to the inside of the manifold, which is constantly heated. The ice would be better put to use in some cold drinks between runs.
