oxy sensor...

what are some of the things that happen when ones goes bad?

my CEL came on and the code i got was OXy sensor. but i didnt notice any changes in how the car drove or started ect.

It can hurt fuel economy, emmissions, etc . . .nothing catostrophic, but it's cheap and easy to fix:

Just buy a universal and stick your old harness on it.

Compared to replacing a catalytic convertor, yes. Like others have said, just go with the universal one.
