Overhead LCD Monitor

Hey guys, I am thinking about installing an Overhead LCD Monitor between my visors. I am looking for the smallest one that I can because there isn't much room up there to work with. Here is probably the smallest one I could find:

Here is the link to the product:
http://www.crutchfield.com/cgi-bin/S...fo&i=158XVMR70

Anyone know if anyone has done this project already? I kinda need some help with this.

DS Customs - www.dscustoms.com
http://www.dscustoms.com/products/DS800RF.htm
DigitalWW - www.digitalww.com
http://www.digitalww.com/LCD_TM_703X_BLACK.htm

and they're both WAAAY below the $700 from crutchfield.

Yeah, but those LCD's are even larger dimensions, so it will not fit up there.

Where would you put it between the visors? Wouldn't it get in the way with your rearview mirror?

Maybe he's integrating the LCD to be a rearview mirror. He has cameras that feed him the image from the outside. Pretty clever man. ;-)

I honestly don't think it's possible unless the screen is like extremely small/wide and you get rid of the rear view mirror. The sunroof is at fault as well. If it was moved back a few more inches, you could probably fit any LCD unit.

I think you're better off installing inside the dash if you know how.

You mean behind the dash (behind the plastic)? I don't like that idea because many people that I have talked to said they ended up taking it out after a while. I want something that is permanent and out of the way. If I have to, I could move my rear view mirror down a bit.

Inside the dash has been done a lot. There are many other options such as installing it directly inside the head unit/tray area with minor modification. I've also seen LCDs installed on both tweeter vents as well. Rather small ones though, but that's an idea. Good luck with it. I'm sure with more research you'll find something that will fit.

I was looking for a similar unit to put in the same location, but everything was too big.

I just wanna get a cheaper one off www.digitalww.com and put it above my headunit. Easier and out of the way
