Out of spare fuse bays... (more)

I need to power a few more things in my car and I am out of spare fuses. What do you guys do, how should i power my gauges to go on with ignition. I am pretty new with wiring off the battery, so please be specific on how i should do it.

Thanks in advance.

For things like gauges, you should tap into the ignition fuse which is located in the fuse box in the engine bay. After you tap into that, you can run the wire through the rubber gromet located right behind that fuse box and route the wire to your desired location of the gauges.

This is the right way to do it, and you don't need an additional fuse because it would be running through the ignition fuse.

If you choose to run a new wire off the battery, then you can just add a fuse housing and fuse anywhere alone that wire before it reaches your new gauges. If you do this, just be sure to use the proper gauge (spelling?) wire. You don't want to use too thick of wire, because too much current can travel through the wire and you could be blowing that fuse constantly. If you use too thin of a wire, then you could run the risk of overloading the wire and possibly cause an electrical fire. I think you should use a 10 gauge wire.

Hope that helps.

Mark

I'm not aware of any blank fuses holders that are active. I'm not a wiring genius by any means so there may be empty but still active spots.

To tap into the ignition fuse you simply splice the wire leading to the ignition fuse. You can unbolt the engine fuse box and you will see the wires leading to all the fuses. When the fuse box is unbolted you can also see the opening in the firewall to run your wire to the interior.
