I was thinking today, look at how the prelude progressed from 1979's first generation to the axe of the 2001, we stand as the black sheep of the family through generations with aggressive front end styling, radical interior and a more RAW driving expierence
I've tried really hard to like the 5th gen since I bought my car but i've come to the conclusion that the 5th gen is not what I consider a prelude to be at all since, well, the 4th gen doesn't fit into the prelude charactertistics at all
i dunno, it's just a mind ramble in a post i guess, just trying to figure out why i hate boring slow 5th gens so much :/
well, if you look at the charicteristics of preludes, like good handling, not the fastest strait line, a boxy sort of styling and squraish headlights.... then yes the 4th gen dosnt fit, its faster strait line, not quite as good in the turns, smoother body, narrower headlights... i guess your right, but i dont hate my 5th gen brothers....

i don't hate the people driving 5g's of course, but i will say that i've driven several 97-01 ludes from 5spd to ss from sh to base and they are all quite simply, disappointing
honda should have provided the type-s engine for USDM and maybe i'd be able to deal with the SUV headlights a little more
yeah, hybrid hatches..... putting power into a completely ghey car
we're not doing anything special as honda owners doing a hatch swap, that's no cooler than shoehorning a 350 into a old fiero, actually it's not even as cool, at least a 350 in a fiero is really fast
yup, the nissans and and mitsu's are definetly getting my attention, as well as the damn cavaliers (ill never own one but they are getting competitive)

honda's gotta have somethin up their sleeves, they gotta realize that as time goes on even the civic riceboys w/ d16's eventually find out their mad slow and want a real car
Yea, the 4th gen is kinda the black sheep. We stand as the only one that is not boxy. If you look at gens 1-3 and 5th, the 4th is the only generation that is not a box... As for the 5th gen, i don't really like them, its a dissapointment that they came out to be as slow as they are... wish honda could of used that old NSX motor in a the lude.. heh.. now that would be nice...

They are starting to fall by the wayside...
say hello and goodbye to honda's only worthwhile FWD mid 20 thousand dollar somewhat torquey sports coupe, the 1992-1996 prelude
it's replacement, having went on a burger king diet, left us in the united states disappointed with it's fat chic appearance and weight yet carrying the same drivetrain and now with shorter gearing and 500lb headlamps, sad it is
maybe the prelude or something similar to it will be reborn
you really shouldn't need to tap the DOHC VTEC power to simply move through traffic
