What difference does it make. Are you actually planning on racing on 17s? The difference between a 15" and 17" wheel is much more important than a bit of weight.

Originally posted by Prelude_2_NV actually yes Jordan...the 17's will be my wheels all year round because i was offered a good price for my stock si rims.
the wheels on the civic weigh slightly less than the traffics at 22 lbs.
i will be dragging with my si this year at a local track...i want to see what numbers i'll get with a bored tb, header, exhaust and intake.
future plans are for a h23a vtec.
So you are gonna be dragging on 17s? Getting a set of lightweight 15" rotas for like $400 will take more time off your 1/4 than most basic bolt ons. If you are gonna drag and care about your times, you should definately get 15s - regardless of whether you have a set of 17s for the street,or not.

What is up with black rims? I don't get it. I thought one reason (besides the performance) for getting big rims is to show them off but how can you do that when they're black? If you're driving by someone with those at any speed, it just looks like you have on ghetto stock black rims like some old civics you see driving around. They look different then the crowd at least but not in a good way to me. my 2 cents

I agree, but to each his own. If i were to get 'dark' rims I would probably get bronze volks...

lol, I wanted black rims so bad I actually considered getting steelies for my summer "rims" and running my stock ones for the winter. IMO, black rims or any darker color rims look intimidating. Lighter color (esp. white) just screams "look at my big shiny/bright rims". Also, I think it attracts too much cops and theives. But then, you can't get black rims for any color car, but silver can go with anything. Just my $.02.
