Hey, I was just going to ask your opinion on what you think about front mount intakes with the big filter down in front of the radiator. I don't hear much about them on preludes but I found an R1 kit on ebay so I was just going to check with you guys to see if any of you had tried them. later.
and all the air going past it would more than likely pull air out then actually enter it and go all the way to the TB.

Your best bet is to get a standard cold air intake with a K&N filter. You can even go the extra mile and run a duct from the front bumper to the filter to supply air from the front of the car.
Those front mounts are marketed to kids because they kinda resemble a front mount intercooler. The design is a poor one IMO and the ones I've seen have some kind of plate in front to deflect water and road debris, hence deminishing the direct airflow to the filter.
And this leads me to my next point. Everyone is so scared about a cold air intake inside the fenderwell sucking up water, whouldn't a exposed filter on the front of the car be far more dangerous? The filter would also become dirty much faster.
I could go on, but I'm sure you get the point, get the tried and true CAI and don't waste your money on junk
There are some really good points to this thread. Take the advice of the serious luders. I don't imagine it will help you any. If you are looking to spend that kind of money then go to our sponsors. You can get an AEM cool air intake for a little more and it will give you some good gains.
I have seen pics of that front mount intake and it doesn't fit properly behind the front bumper. There really isn't that much room back there. It sticks out all kinda funny. It isn't worth the money. If you will search up top there are many threads related to the AEM CAI and some will show you some gains you can expect.
Again don't listen to the haters and welcome to PO.

i had it.... and i can tell you frist hand.... DON"T GET IT!!!!!! i ended up cuttin the metal part and made a custom cold air intake with a filter i got off ebay. but to be honest it doesn't even sound good. if i could do it all over again i wouldn't of gotten that intake and just gotten any old cold air intake
