Opinion: Should I buy this 4th gen.

I previously didn't feel like posting this on here.

But i have been seriously thinking about all the details about getting it. I haven't slept well for few nights

So, hope the owner and yo luders don't mind.

Ok. $7k.

Carfax report shows two accidents

Accident Report:

1. 03/08/1999 Florida Police Report
Accident Reported
Involving right side impact with another motor vehicle

2. 11/15/2000 Florida Police Report
Accident Reported
Involving a front impact with another motor vehicle

and the car was an lease vehicle long time ago.

Now, repainted San Marino Red. 107k miles. Engine used to give problems but owner said it has been fixed and rebuilt. Tranny had problems couldn't get into any gears except 2nd gear but owner said it has also been fixed due to the shift linkage didn't align properly. The ABS light stays ON all the time.

The owner is one of our PO members. She used to post a few threads about her car was giving all kinda problems.

This is the latest one.

Overall, the car looks very nice. New paint job with JDM headlights and perfect leather. She takes really good care of the interior. The only thing that bothers me is the engine and body. Coz i am thinking about buying a 94-96 prelude VTEC as my long term keep car. After buying this one I won't be looking for any.

So, should I buy this car? Please give you most honest comment.

Thanks.

Take it to a mechanic and have them do some checks on it. If you feel good about the car the go for it.

wow, I would say definitely not. sounds like you'd be buying someone else's problems. also you forgot to post what year/model car it is. either way though, I definitely wouldn't buy a car when I knew it had a history like that, especially for $7k.

i agree with pre

that cars seems very problematic. 7k for 107000 miles and all those problems, and accidents doesnt sound like a good deal at all

I would look for another Vtec or 4WS either a 1994 or 1995 model. You can pick up a good model for in better shape than that car for the same price

That car seems to have had a lot of problems. I would pass. Plus you can find a better deal. I got my 93 SI a year and a half ago for $6200 and it has a new engine in it with only 20k.
Save up for da VTEC man!

I bought my si for $4300
got it off ebay and have never had a problem
I say ebay is great for cars IF you know that
you can pickup or look at car before any $$$$
is given and that the money your saving could
be needed for repairs or upgrades, but with all
the modding and stuff its worth the savings

But I wouldn't spend that much money on it

yea... i bought my car off ebay... of course i had to fly to ohio to get and drive back down here... so it was either drive the car back or fly home and keep looking. i got my 93 vtec for 5000 with 123000 on it. but i needed to fix exhaust leaks so i bought performance stuff. neways, i would say no to the buying. check out some other cars but that has more problems than u want and you will probably have to put even more money into it just to keep it runnig right and then the bills will start building up.

I got my VTEC for $9500 with 88k miles on it, after shopping for 6 months. One dime-sized scratch on the passengers door, other than that it looked like the lady went back in time to 1995 and brought me the car brand new. Get this, she said she went past 5k RPM's a couple of times when she first got it and it scared her so she didn't do it anymore, haha. Dude keep shopping. GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT!!!
