slp mode

Today I went to take my little cousin for a ride since he helped me with my car, and he was down from lake elsinore, so i let my baby warm up, and cruise down the street, put the pedal to the floor and just when I hit vtec, it started popping and studdering, It almost felt like a lack of fuel but I don't understand that, if it was a lack of fuel i would be getting that every time I stepped on it, and it only does it once in a while. Also when we got back I popped the hood, and there was smoke coming from the back of the motor, it smelt like burnt rubber, and don't think this is related. I made sure all the rubber hoses were away from the motor, but that's the only thing I can think of that it could be. Anyone have a similar issue?

Ooohh check your radiator fluid levels... I had something like this happen to me before and in my case it was the intake manifold gasket.

MISSFIRE, willing to bet money thats what it is. A cel might not pop up if it was a one time thing. what work did you just do to the car?

It's probably ignition related. Usually at higher rpms if the ignition system is old it may not fire a cylinder(s). I would check wires, spark plugs and distributor's cap and rotor.

slp mode

I checked all the fluid levels when it happened oil,water,etc. All my ignition items are new except for the coil. But I will double check that stuff. Nothing is leaking as far as the burning smell and smoke. I'm gonna heat it up today and get underneath it and take a better look.
