Oil/Fluids

Hey all,

I have a 93 Si that has about 170,000 miles on it and I wanna keep it running the smoothest I can. I haven't really paid much attention to what brand oil and fluids I fill it up with, but I'm curious to know if there are certain brands/types that are better for my car and the weather conditions I live in? I live on an island at sea level (lol, I can see the ocean like 100 yards away) on the Gulf coast of Texas. So the weather here is generally very humid and hot, specially in the summer. Are there certain types of oil/clutch/brake fluid brands that perform better in these conditions than other ones? What brand oils do you guys use?

most brands are pretty decent nowadays.

at that mileage, if you aren't using synthetic already, you might not want to switch. i would recommend using high mileage type oils right now.

generally 10w-40 is good enough for texas.

if you really want to know the condition, check out Blackstone Laboratories

I run any brand highmileage oil on all of my family's cars (all over 100k). In your situation, maybe just look into changing your fluids a bit sooner than usual?

Alright. I was just wondering if there was some sort of specific brand that hits the sweet spot for preludes, but if it's all pretty much the same then I am sticking with what I use now cause it seems to work just fine
