Oil Dipstick questions

I changed my oil last night and put the usual 4 quarts in there, which usually almost fills it up. i drove it around the block then let it sit for ~30 mins then checked it before i went out to get some drinks. It was right above full on uneven ground. Anyways, i check it this morning and it appears to be ~1 quart overfilled, on level ground. checked it in the same spot as last night, except this afternoon ~1 quart overfilled. I am not worrying too much about this, but i used a Fram filter instead of a NAPA Gold filter this time. Should i worry? What could be the cause of this problem? I ran it up on the ramps, let the oil drain for about 30 minutes while i ate, came back, replaced the filter put 4 quarts in her. I just have no clue whats going on.

1 quart ??

I heard that your engine can mess up if its got too much oil ... check it again today and i'd really suggest taking out that quart.

Ok is anywhere between the two dots. Full is the top dot. Over filled is passed the top dot. When you check your oil after it sits all the oil that is in the oil filter drained into the pan. You don't need to drive around the for 30 min, just fill it, start it, and let it run until the oil light goes out. That is usually about 0-10sec. Turn it off and check.
