oil Burning problems....

i don't notice that much oil being burnt right now (maybe 1.5 quarts every 3000 miles), but i was messing with my muffler tonight trying to shoot a cup out, it didn't work, but what i noticed was when i told my friend to rev it up to 2k. it smoked like a white-gray smoke. i told him to turn it off then back on and it was the same color smoke, that just kinda clouded up for about 5 secs and then the same thing happened when he revved it up to about 2k. What could be the problems of this? I drip a TINY bit of oil that i only notice when the car has been sitting for more than a day, maybe a drop every week - i park in the exact same spot almost. Any ideas? The motor has almost 20k miles on it since i swapped it about a year and a half ago...

was it when you just started your car after letting it sit for a little while?

dont worry about it... go for a 10 minute drive than do it, you should notice a lot less smoke if at all.

is there any reason why it does this? carbon buildup in exhaust being put out by the rush of gasses from starting up the motor?
