Oh my effin' god!!!

hey, i just had my car fixed about 2 weeks ago and now i have that really bad screeching noise that everybody hates. i swear there is ALWAYS a problem with my car. i have a 92 prelude Si witha h23.
so i just wanted to see how much it would cost to replace my belt or belts.
cause i see the price ranging either from 300 to 1500.
any ideas????????

If it's the accessory drive belt slipping, then you probably don't need to replace it. Just put a little more tension on it and the screeching should stop.

When do you hear the noise? Where does it seem to be coming from? Details...

And uh, 300 - 1500 to replace what exactly?

Pretty simple to tighten the power steering belt, A/C and Alternator belts with just a wrench. Timing belt is a whole different story, but I don't see that being the cause.

As I said earlier, just tighten it. That will stop the squealing.

There are bolts that you can just tighten and they will pull the belt tight. Just tighten it until you can move the belt just a bit right or left. Too tight and it will snap or make noise.

For the alternator + Ac belt = They are one belt
There is a small long bolt to the right of it all that is pointing towards the front of the car, just tighten that one.

For Power Steering there should be a bolt about the same size to the right of the unit.
You can also get the ac or power steering units loose and pull up on them as you tighten and that will fix it also.

Good luck
