Anyone know how to rewire them so that they turn on with the PARKING lights, instead of the headlights?

thanks!

Pull out the switch from the center console. It should have three wires going into it. Figure out which wire goes hot when the headlights turn on (multimeter). Then all you ned to do it cut that wire and tie a hot with parking lamps feed into the wire going into the switch. Check the FAQ and you can find the wiring diagram.

Good luck, HTH.

Well after looking at that closer what you need o do is change the red/yellow wire that feeds the relay so that it gets a power when the parking lamps are on. Since there are two red/yellow wires you will need to figure out which one. Then you need to replace the corect wire at the switch with one that goes to ground.

The way these work is that when the headlights are turned on they feed power to the relay coil which then connects to the switch. When the lights are on low beam the dimmer relay provides a ground path through the black wire in the switch so that when the switch is pressed it activates the coil and fires the relay.

I hope this makes sence. It is just like following a map, power will flow from positive to ground (the little triangles).

the way Mario has it setup is cool... but the only problem is, he's not able to use to the stock on/off switch to turn off the fogs. Thus as long as his driving lights or headlights are on, his fogs are on as well... no way to turn it off.

There must be a way... but how?

The only other solution that I can think of is using a relay from a cheap set of fogs... like one that you can buy from Kragen or something.

or this acutally might be an option....

Rewiring Foglights.

"The cool thing about this method is that you'll wire the fog switch to another switch so that you won't have to turn any lights on and cause your interior light (radio, clock) to dim during the day. You'll be concerned only with the fogs switch and the rear defogger switch right next to it.

Disconnect the battery.

O.K., both switches will pop out towards you with a screw driver. The fog switch has five wires, the defogger has six.

First, find the red/yellow wire in the FOGS switch. Cut this wire about 2" away from the switch.

Now take the cut wire that's STILL attached to the switch and splice it into the black/yellow wire of the Defogger switch.

You're done. Now cover up everything with electrical tape including the other parts of the cut red/yellow wire of the fogs switch and see if everything works. The fogs should come on/off independently of the defogger switch which means you DON'T have to mess with the defogger switch ever. Just turn off/on the fogs button anytime and they WILL turn off automatically when the ignition is off."

So instead of hooking it up to the defogger... we can easily hook up the red/yellow wire to a constant power; like the hazards or ash tray light (turns on with parking lights)
