Odometer rollback

Is it possible to rollback a 94-96 odometer? I'd imagine this would be extremely difficult since it's digital...but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

no, unless you swap the odo. chip.

I am sure you could do it, but would require another tool.

So you'd have to swap the chip from another 94-6 lude and install it? Is that all you would do?

yeah,

just have to find a used cluster from a lude with less miles and swap the module. I actually have a spare one with 45,XXX miles on it

i thought your odometer showed chasis miles and not motor miles... you need TWO odometers when you swap motors...

Are you kidding? We are not promoting illegal activities. He asked if it could technically be rolled back, what his cause is we do not know.

If that was true I guess honda should not sell the odo. by itself with ZERO miles?

If this goes in the wrong direction it will be locked.

do the digital ones count backwards when you go in reverse, like the analog ones?

cuz if thats the case... then yea, a few power tools could get it done...

Expect this thread to be monitored carefully. If anyone posts directions to rollback an odo, this thead will be deleated entirely. . . not just locked.

Aye? There is no way it will count backwards when reversing. It only moves going forwards...

I was just asking because I'm looking to buy a car very soon and wanted to know if the 94-96s could be rolled back by a shady seller. That's all.

You can also see that mechanical odometers like this one are rewindable. When you run the car in reverse, the odometer actually can go backwards -- it's just a gear train. In the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," in the scene where they have the car up on blocks with the wheels spinning in reverse -- that should've worked! In real life, the odometer would've turned back.

cant turn back digital ones according to that site
