Odd problem....maybe someone can help

Well, I'll try to describe what's going on.

First off, I have a 94 with the H22A. Every now and then when I start the car the check engine light will stay on and you can tell the car sounds a bit different. Not much but a little. While the CEL is on the car will only rev to about 3k rpms and just bounce around that point no matter how much the gas is pushed. I'll shut the car off and cycle the key on and off, sometimes once, sometimes two or three times and then the light will go off and the car runs fine. I've been having this issue once to twice a week. I'm never in the position to be able to check the code when it happens either, so I'm not exactly sure which one it is. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

When you're getting a CEL, pull the code. That will give you great amounts of insight.

Oh I know, I'm just never in the position to be able to do it when it happens.

It takes less than a minute to check. Just have a paperclip ready to pull the code at a moment's notice

Yeah,I haven't pulled the radio out or anything yet to find the plug. From what I've read it's somewhere in there. I'll probably try and do something this week sometime.

No need to pull the radio... you can get to the plug just by looking behind the console on the driver's side. There's a picture of the plug somewhere on here

Well, I located the plug...now I'm just waiting for the CEL to come back. Do you know if it will only show the code after the CEL comes on, or is it sometimes stored to memory? I know on my last car sometimes it wouldn't necessarily be on, but when you hooked up the scanner one would still show up because it was being held in memory until it was erased.
