OBDII question

I am looking to buy a '96 prelude and eventually drop a h22a in it. my question is does getting the new motor and ecu make the car obdI.. or would i still have to do the work around.. thanks.

it depends on what ECU comes with the engine(if you go that route) Just get an ECU from an OBDI prelude and run it or do the work around on your current ECU. Then you should be good to go

it would come with a jdm p13.. however i think i am going to buy an obdII p28 chipped... thanks

i wouldnt go with the obdII 28 or a p28 for that matter.


get the 96 and the jdm h22 and jdm p13, that will make it obdI the only thing you will have to do is run a few wires from where the sensors are at the crank on OBDII to the distributor, its really easy. let me know if this doenst make sense
