Obd Ii

I have a 96 prelude si, which has OBD II. Will this minimize the effects of small modifications such as intake and exhaust? Been thinking of getting a CAI and custom exhaust, and I'll do the workaround if it'll get me more power.

Do a search, this has been covered a lot.

SOrry I can't help much, I was lucky enough to have OBDI, but I think that the ECU learns to compensate for the mods, and detunes itslef. THe workaround should help your mods from what I've heard

Yeah, OBD II sucks. The ECU will atempt to return the car to it's stock settings; that's a big bummer if you want to mod the car. If I remember correctly the difference between OBD I and II is just in the wiring of the distributor. Maybe you can change it, I'm not sure. Good luck.

the obd2 in the 96 prelude isnt much different from the obd1 in the 92-95. they didnt get anal about the **** till the 97+ prelude wiht the obd2.2 mess. they only made it obd2 b/c thats when the govt. said they had to put in obd2, all they did was add a 2nd o2 sensor, a crank mounted crank angle sensor and better monitoring of the egr system.......
