I have two or three posts about this subject but I need to go into greater detail now. Basicaly I'm looking at swapping in a h22 but I've gotten mixed opinions as to how to go about it. One guy suggested to slap on a vtec head, another said to go with a brand new 200hp jdm h22, and another said swap in a 94-95 JDM h22 type s (200hp) OBD 1. From what I hear OBDII is horrible when it comes to mods. What do you guys think? Is OBDII that bad? Should I just go with a JDM 94-95 types and if so should I just stick with my h23 tranny or go for the full swap? What are the differences in tranny's? Is lsd worth it? How exactly does lsd work? As you can see I have quite a few decisions to make. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance to all who reply.
yes. get a 93-95 JDM H22. it will give you the biggest gains if you are going to moddify it. LSD is a nice thing to have and it will shave alot off your time. Si and VTEC trannies have the same final drive ratio but i believe that the VTEC is geared a little bit lower (faster) through the gears than the Si. LSD (limited Slip Differential) transmisions have sensors that pick up the traction that your drive wheels have. since we have a spit axle, as opposed to a sold one, in the front the LSD tranny can take power away from a wheel that doesnt have traction and give the wheel that does have traction a little bit more power. thats the best i can explain it. i hope it helped
Thanks for the info Tyler; it's making my decision a little easier. Does anyone else have any suggestions though? I'm looking to get as much feedback as possible so I can make the right decision. Thanks.
93 is the fastests Prelude... thats an urban legend. What data
do you have to back that up? The 93 rims were the heaviest 21lb vs 17lbs for 94-96lbs... so how do you figure?

LSD is a nice thing to have but they don't work off sensors, they are a mechanical device to keep all the power from going to one wheel alone. OBD II does suck.
now that is funny, especially when an LSD is most useful during turns.
thats funny now isnt it that if you have an lsd you get tire skip during tight turns? theres a variable in wheel spinning speed when turning and that screws with the lsd making one tire skip. its not traction control its all mechanical.
