NOW the fuel/temp gauges aren't lighted?!

Hi folks,

Have only owned this 82k '95 for a month. The light (I assume that's the problem) behind the fuel/temp gauges just stopped working. All the other gauges operate. I've checked all of the fuses - they're fine. Is there a bulb that backlights those particular gauges burned out? Do I have to remove dash to replace?

Thanks, Tony

You have to replace the cluster, there are no bulbs, it's LCD.

1) Is the fuel/temp cluster separate or part of a single cluster that includes speed/rpm?

2) Besides dealership $$$, suggestions on where to purchase?

3) I understand junkyards may be available, but then you take the risk of it not working.

4) How much should I expect tp pay?

5) I assume the dash has to be removed; does anyone know where I should start or where I can get drawings or text describing process or is it "fairly" easy?

Thanks, Tony

1. Those gauges are separate.

2. ebay

5. Its relatively easy to pull this stuff apart. I can't type up detailed instructions, but in short: remove the dash speaker grills, upper plastic trim (there's 5 or 6 screws holding it on), plastic middle piece between the speedo/tach and fuel/temp/warning light cluster, and then a handful of screws. Should take a max of 20 minutes to take it out.
