Non starter 2.2vtec jdm
Found this site while trying to get my prelude starting again.
I've got a 93 2.2 vtec imported from Japan.
It has 100k miles on it.
Its the best car I've owned yet and always gets peoples attention. Even when I broke down i had a few poeple asking about where I got the body kit from.
Had a long drive last week 250 miles in one day.
They next day went for a short drive. Dropped my bro off. Turned off the car. Restarted about 2 minutes later. The car started....just about... but then 200m down the road it just died. Not started since.
Got a tow back.
I tried in order:
Replaced the icm....no start
Got the fault codes 16 & 36...
I undersatnd that 16 usually the main relay. So resoldered all the joints on that. I hear 3 clicks when turning the ignition so I think its ok, also got 3 clicks before resoldering...no start.
Tried unplugging the coolant temp sensor....no start
Checked all fuses, visually..no start
I was thinking it might be ECU, o2 sensor(s), or a grounding issue somewhere.
Also I didnt notice till now but I'm getting a light on the dash between the oil check and door open light...think this is cat light, but not sure.
The car had a cam belt change at 80k, cranks but doesnt start.
If anyone has any ideas, would appreciate it.
Thanks
