noise/bumping... what is it?
Here's what I can tell you...
Hard right turn, whether accelerating or not, it happens.
Sometimes when slowing to a stop, whether in gear or not, it happens.
Sometimes driving in straight line on hwy whether accelerating or not, it happens.
With that said... 'IT' refers to a loud repetitive thumping noise that can be FELT as much as heard. I can't pinpoit any specific location, it just feels like its generally coming form underneath me. It almost sounds/feels like something is flapping against the underside of the car, something heavy. Also worth mentioning is the performance/handling of the car isn't altered in any way, nor does it feel unstable at all.
My first thought was CV joint gone bad, but this is louder than any bad CV joint i've ever experienced, and i can definately feel the thumping as well.. which is something else i've never associated with CV joints. CV joints have always been a more gradual thing as well in my experience.
I jacked up the front of the car and gave everything a good inspection. No ripped boots, no visual signs of damage or anything out of place. SPC ball joint style camber kits are locked in place, GC coilovers seem fine. Everything looks fine. Its also worth noting that when I have heard it while coming to a stop, the repitition did not slow so it does not seem to be related to vehicle speed in any way.
Also, my entire interior is removed right now so i have access to most anything inside the car if need be. Anybody have any ideas? thoughts? questions?
