no pressure on my clutch... help please!!!

hey i just started my car noticed there is barely any pressure on my clutch pedal. it'll just go in until it gets near the floor and have little pressure. so when i try to drive it, since the clutch engages only for little bit, i just stall. i also tried to have my rpm stay up high and let go of the clutch, that way even though the clutch engages only for little it won't stall. but it still stalls. what is the problem? i remember my friend adjusted the free play on my clutch pedal for me when we did the manual swap 'cuz it had no free play at all and was all stiff but now there's too much free play that i can't even drive it. do you guys think adjust the free play on the clutch will solve this problem? or any other? like clutch master/slave cylinders? please let me know.. thanks alot.

I had to order a new clutch master cylinder because mine was leaking horribly, and had no pressure at all, and wasnt working period.. it might very well be your free play.. check to see if your master cyilnder is leaking, look just above the clutch pedal...

i don't think my master cylinder is leaking... if the clutch pedal was leaking, the pedal won't return right? anyone know how to adjust the free play? do i have to loosen or tighten the bolt that's behind clutch pedal?

So the pedal DOES return?

I may be able to look at it on friday if you don't get it figured out.

I had the same problem towards the end of last year. I changed the clutch fluid and then stored the car. I figured that I would have to change the slave cylinder (I think) but in the end all I needed was a change. The fluid getts really dirty and much be changed every once in a while. I would guess maybe 75K...
Before you do anything else try changing the fluid.

Good Luck

i just checked my fluid level... empty in master cylinder... so i'm wondering... is it leaking ? or does it usually get low like that? i checked that cylinder thing behind my clutch, there's liquid there. so i was thinkin it might be leaking... i'm gonna change the clutch fluid.. and i'll see if that fixes it... thanks

honestly, mine leaked all the time.. usually had to refill twice a month. But when i swapped engines, i found no leaks anywhere... Since then, and bleeding the line, i havent had a problem

Rebuild kit is just a seal replacement kit for your existing cylinder, I'd just get a new one instead

yep, same with everyone else. Master leaked, and I had no fluid. Lost all pressure. Get a new master and you are ready to go.

Ok, so my clutch isnt getting any pressure AT ALL, when u touch it, it slings to the floor and stays there. I tried bleeding it, just opening the nub and there wasnt any squirting, replaced the fluid and it still doesnt have any pressure, is the master cylinder just completely dead? Is theere anyway i can fix it at least for the weekend?

Make sure and check your slave cylinder too...mine was leaking and that caused no pressure for me. Replaced it and it's fine now.
