no clutch pressure

I was driving home last night, and my clutch lost all pressure. It's been losing fluid slowly over the past few months, and i determined it was my master cylinder, or so I think. Changed my master cylinder, and it still won't build pressure. I tried adjusting the arm on the master, but no luck. Where should I start looking for problems? Thanks!

Check the slave cylinder. You sure the master was leaking? Did you have brake fluid on the inside of the car where the plunger sticks through the firewall?

^what he said. You might as well change the slave cylinder as well since you changed the clutch master cylinder.

Once you get pressure built up in the system, you will probably have to adjust it.

so, i changed the slave, adjusted the plunger rod, and now have pressure. However, my clutch doesn't want to engage now. I know my throwout bearing is bad, but a friend of mine says to use dot 4 instead of dot 3. So, what do we do now?

Dot 3 or 4 won't make a difference in daily driving. If you have confirmed that everything is working from the master to the slave, then you have a problem with your clutch.

Doesn't want to engage? Weird... usually its the other way around lol

Does the arm that rests on the piston that comes out of the slave cylinder move when you depress the clutch pedal?
