No a/c from center vents?

Wow, I can't believe there's a site like this! Just happened to run into this place while searching on Google. Looks awesome!

Anyway, occassionally my center vents on my 93 won't blow air if I change from using the dash air to the windshield and back. Anyone else have this problem?

First, take the whole climate control out of the dash. Then take out all of the piping and hoses that are connected to the vents, and anything else that might seem like air would go through it. Even the vents in the doors. Clean everything with a solution of 1 part water and 1 part rubbing alcohol and then put it all back. Shouldn't take you less than 5 hours.

Actually, I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. But, I'm pretty sure someone else might know. This is a great site to get information from. Don't forget to search...

Bah! I thought you had an answer...

I did search, seems I'm the only one who's had this problem.

So much stuff to read on this forum, though, it's amazing; I've run through five pages of stuff on this part of the forum alone (I have yet to go see the "Audio" section). Though one thing is very disheartening: I'm probably the only person with a totally, completely, absolutely bare-bones stock Prelude (save for audio). Sad, no?

About a year and a half. It's my first purchased vehicle (I'm 21, before this my parents gave me an old 1981 Accord hatchback).

Seeing as how I'm going to school, I can't afford to do much with the car. I also have no experience with mechanics and whatnot, though I try to read as much as I can. Once I get my degree and make money, then I'll see. I'd love to turbo- or super-charge the Prelude, but again, no mon=no fun. Right across the street from my house is a place dedicated to Honda/Acura Motorsports, it's a bunch of guys with Civics, Integras, with good-looking setups; they set up shop and do installations. Maybe I'll check them out sometime.

All it has now is a Pioneer cassette deck, CD changer, two 10" subwoofers w/150 watt amp, and I replaced the stock tweeters with some cheap $10 ones I found on eBay (which are suprisingly good, considering what I paid). So at least I got tunes.

Mines pretty stock! (except for the JDM H22A, but that's stock too) I love the styling of the car without any add-ons, it's kind of like my girlfriend, naturally beautiful without any makeup!
I might pick up a spoon front lip , tho!

Everybody sure got off the topic. My 93 prelude has the same problem with the center vents not opening all the time. What i normally do is first set the vents to the head/foot combo, then a few seconds later set it to head only. If that doesn't work try tapping on the dash above the vents. If you want a more permanent fix, from what i've read on another post, the best thing to do is pull out the climate control cluster, and plug all the connections in real tight and check for any wires that are coming loose. If any wires are loose solder them back in place, and the prob should be fixed for good.
