New steering wheel?

Hey guys,
My stock wheel has turned all gummy and the outer area moves around, and it is really annoying. SO I decided that it is time for a new wheel. I need to know what hub you guys use? I plan to get a momo wheel. Is anyone running the CMR hub? I know I can get a grant hub, and then get a grant to momom convertor, but I wanna stay away from that. The CMR hub will be like 130 dollars, so I am trying to find something cheaper. ANy help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

I also want the hub to cancel the turn signal. the momo one does not do this from what I have been told.
Thanks,
Josh
P.S c'mon I know there are people on this board with aftermarket wheels, what hubs are you guys using?

i've tried a few hubs. So far none have worked. I've tried a HKB hub which is very similar to the CMR hub. It didn't work for me because the fourth gens have a slightly smaller steering shaft and the teeth would not catch between the hub and steering shaft. I now ordered a 92-95 civic hub which is supposed to work. My fingers are crossed because I've had to sit and look at my mugen steering wheel for almost 6 months

I'm using a Momo Hub.

The one listed for the 4th gen Prelude doesn't work on North American Preludes.... I learned that from experience. It's set up beuatifully for JDM and Euro spec Preludes though, even retianing the ability for Cruise control. If you use that hub the column cover will not close up and the wheel will be too close the the turn signals (so your knuckles will keep turning on the signals ll the time). The signal reset will not work either...

The MOMO hub I ended up using is model number C- 4911 and mounting it "upside down" ( if you mount it "right side up" with the word "top" where its supposed to be the wheel will be tilted right about 2 degrees.. flip it over 180 deg so the word "top" is at the bottom and the steering wheel sits straight).

The 4911 hub works great but you will still need to fabricate a horn contact for the hub. It's pretty easy tho. Just remember the horn wire is the far left one on the reel plug.

BTW do not disassemble the reel unless you are very careful. There is a realllllllyyyy long strip of ribbon cable in there that's wound up and if you drop either part you're gonna have a hell of a time rewinding the thing and getting the tension back to the right place..

Grant, I was wondering what model car the 4911 momo hub was from. I too tried the momo hub for the preludes and it didn't work.

To remove the cable reel do you just unplug it at the connector? you talked about taking it apart and I'm a little confused why anyone would want to do that. Sorry for my ignorance...

I'm not sure what car it came from... One of the civic years I think...

Anyway you don't need to take apart the the reel assembly. Just unplug it from the connector. I was just warning those that might be a little bit curious.. (like I was)

BTW when you remove the little hatch from the underside of the steering wheel to unscrew the airbag, you will find a red plug clipped onto the inside of the cover..

As soon as you unplug the airbag use that "cap" and plug it into the airbag. It's a saftey plug that disables the airbag so it doesn't explode in your hands or during storage..

Thanks for the info Grant. Just wondering if your hub cancels your signal lights?

Thanks again Grant. For anyone who cares, the hub Grant is talking about is the momo 4911 hub which is for the 92-95 civics.
