I Purchased a 96 Si this past year and it came with a performance exhaust and a new air intake, but I don't really know how to tell the difference between shortram and cold-air. Also I want to swap the 4-cyclinder 2.2L I have for the VTEC but I'm new to this so I need some pointers on what engine I should pick and what would be a good transmission to switch to as well. Thanks for the help!

The only thing I can tell you is search. You dont have a 4 cylinder 2.2 in your car its a 2.3 just fyi. the only VTEC engine that bolts directly into the prelude is an h22 or the euro h23. you have a long way to go knowledge wise before you do anything like that. Short ram and cold air intake are almost the same thing one just has a shorter pipe than the other.
