New Prelude owner with some questions

So yesterday I picked up a 1992 Prelude Si (5-spd) with about 152K miles on it. Bone stock. There are a few little quirks with it that I have some questions about for the experienced Prelude veterans.

problem 1: The cruise control does not work, neither does the horn, I've checked the fuses on both, and both are good. Where would my next spot be to look? I was thinking a possible step would be to pull the steering wheel and just double check the connectors there seeing as it's both things on the wheel that are malfunctioning.

problem 2: The sun roof/moon roof (whatever it's called) works fine, but when I am opening or closing it, the motor does not automatically shut off. If the roof is all the way open, it sounds like the motor keeps running (a humming noise) until I release the switch. Same thing when it's fully closed. Where do I begin with this?

problem 3: The power antenna works but does not go all the way down. When it goes up, it reaches it's most upper position and the motor clicks a couple clicks and then stops. Anyone know what this could be?

problem 4: This might be an age issue, but at the night, the backlighting on the speed and RPM guages looks like crap. It looks like there is just a thin piece of cloth as the guage face. I don't really know how to explain it but when the light are on, it does NOT look like this:

http://www.preludeonline.com/attachm...230007825.jpeg

It just looks kind of faded and you can't really make out the MPH numbers. I'll try to take a picture of it tonight maybe. I don't know if this is the way it's supposed to be on the 92 Prelude of if I just need to change the guage faces out or something.

These are of course no life threatening problems (except for maybe the horn) but just little quirks that I would like to get fixed and since I am new to Preludes (coming off 2 Del Sol's) would like to see if I can get some guidance.

Thanks in advance!
Carlos

problem 1: replace your clock spring.
problem 2: this is normal
problem 3: this is 'normal' too. the antenna could be bent
problem 4: yours will not look like that, that is a 94-96 gauge cluster. yours will look like "crap" compared to those. probably green too.

Problem 3: the nylon teeth on your antenna mast are probably broken. Thats why it does not go all the way down. Their should be a tutorial somewhere on here or maybe preludepower.com to replace just the mast on your antenna.

cool, I will look into the clock spring as soon as I have a chance, ill probably just take a multimeter to it and test for continuity from 1 end to the other.

about the gauges, they don't look green. basically they look like the backlight is fading through the gauge face. It does not just light up the numbers on the gauges, it also lights around the numbers. I tried taking a picture last night but on the picture they come out good. The numbers also look "out of focus" (best way I can explain it) when the lights are on. They dont look "sharp" as they would if only the digits would be lit.

That is why I attached that picture, I understand its not my cluster, but as an example of how "sharp/in focus" the numbers are displayed. The backlight just seems to bleed through the gauge face around the actual digits.

you can prob get a new antenna mast off ebay for cheap. Post a pic of the gauges. There is a good chance your bulbs are burnt out or are going out

If the lights on your cluster aren't green in color, then there might be some sort of film in there from the previous owner. An easy trick to change the colors is to take the cluster apart and put a clolored film over it to change the color. What color are your guages?

90-97 Accord antenna

Heres a write up I found about the antenna. its for an accord, but it should be very similar for a prelude.

OK, so I was mistaken, they are green in color, I took some pics, they are attached to this post, they look blue, but are actually green. As you can see in the pictures, you can see light bleed out from the top of the gauges. But as you can see, it also bleeds through the gauge faces. Now the pictures dont do it justice, it looks like there is just a little light coming through but IRL its much worst.

Is it the flash from the camera that's adding the specles of white light across the faces or does it really look like that?
either way it doesn't look normal. Your best bet might just be to pull the cluster out and take a look at it.

not the flash, I had the flash off on the camera, those specles are actually on the gauges. In real life it actually looks way worst then in the pictures. I didn't think it was normal and I think it looks crappy but being a new owner, I didn't know if it was normal for maybe it's age.

After looking at my own cluster I noticed the letter NS right under the 140 mph, which I don't see in your photos. If yours does not have that marking, I would assume its not the stock guage face.

Awesome (sarcastic) I will just double check tomorrow to see if I happen to see it tomorrow

I dont know if I am reading this correctly but the gauges I posted in the original post, are NOT my gauges, that was just an example picture I used from google. The later post with the 3 pictures in are my gauges. I am only saying this because u said electro gauges and I assumed that u thought the original link was a pic of my gauges
