New idea for taillights.......

I was thinking about it and I think that I have come up with a solution for people who like the stock red and clear look, like altezzas, but don't want the ugly chrome or cf ones.

My idea is this:

Take apart the stock taillights, do the turn signal clearing method, remove the clear reflector from the back of the red housing, and attach altezzas style round covers over the taillight bulbs. This way, you still have the look of stock, but in the form of an altezza!
I will be posting pictures of my idea probably within the week or next week. But until then I think you can picture what they look like.

I can picture it in my mind, but I'm not sure what the final product will look like.

Is this what you are going to use my Altezza's for?

I think I have to search for another set of stockers because I can't get in touch with Amy (PreludeChic). She hasn't returned my emails or PM's, hope everything is OK with her.

So if anyone has an extra set of tails let me know.

Mark

Well I wasn't originally but I just thought about that idea and I figured I'd try it to see what it looks like.

Jose(PRELUDENYC) has a set for sale for $30 shipped! PM him!

my home made clear turn signals are now on the car. im somewhat satisfied with the job i did. the silicone holding the plastic piece is definately visible. oh well. its better than orange/clear.

i know the clear reflector you are talking about. i never removed it from the red backing piece so im not sure how it would look. creativity is cool though, i cant wait to see pics.

That... sucks =(

That would of been great if you started a new trend for Prelude taillights.

You know I think I am going to have to kill him!!!!!!
Man that pisses me off!!! Every time I think of something new, someone has already phuckin done it! Oh well, but yeah that is what I am going to do except that I am going to have a cover over the turn signal, and it is going to be ones out of a set of altezzas so they will clip right in and the whole light will be flawless!! So atleast mine is going to look better than his!!!!!

BTW, now that you know how it is pretty much going to look, what are your thoughts and opinions on it now??

Hey Matt, when I read this I think that you may be planning on using my clear lenses from the Altezza's that Andy is sending back to you.

I want you to take the clear turn signal lenses from my old altezza's and insert them into the stock tail lights that PreludeNYC is going to send to you.

You can do what ever you want with the remainder of the Altezza's just as long as you remove the clear turn signals and wait for the extra set of stock tail lights.

If you have another set of Altezza's that you are experimenting with, I appologize for jumping the gun. I JUST WANT TO BE COMPLETELY CLEAR WITH MY INTENTIONS FOR SENDING YOU MY ALTEZZA's.

Thanks.............Mark

Hey Mark, I do have a set of Altezzas that I will be using the clear pieces for, and yes I am using your altezza ones for your taillights! I can understand where you got that idea from though. (It's ok, I won't penalize you for it )

I will make a how-to so that everyone can do it to their taillights if they want to, and I will give clear directions as well as lots of pictures! So as I said before, it should be this week or next week!

Sorry Matt, I thought you misunderstood what I wanted you to do for me. Email isn't a very effect tool to properly communicate your ideas.

I'll be happy once these lights are cleared, what a disaster this has been!

Once again, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks.........Mark

Those look like altezzas painted over top, but Outlawlude i think your idea will turn out better since you cant see the circle in the day but will have a circle imprint at night, keep up the good work

thats really cool. i would like to do that but i dont want to spend $150 on altezzas and only use the circle red lense. seems like i would be wasting my money. so if anyone has broken altezzas or something and dont want that red lense u can give it to me.
