Probably a faulty IAC or something. If you do a search on "idle," which is the correct spelling by the way, it should come up with a bunch of similar things.

first off we need more info than

"it jumps from 1000-3000 like crazy and keeps doing it"

second if you want answers lose the attitude, the red letters and the LARGE CAPS.

Third do a search first and then we help...the list of possible problems is soooooo long could be a loose vacume line, could be the timing belt could be the IAC..get the picture

Well guys sorry about the red lettering. i didnt think it was going to b a big deal! but yea my lude still does that same thing. it started doing it after i put the intake on there, friends tell me that the car is taking to much air and that's why it does it, That doesnt really make sense, cuz i thought that's what a intake was supposed to do! well if any body can gave me hint on what it is i would appreciate it.

Your friend is a ****ing moron

Odds are it is a vaccum leak or an idle control prob. Jump your ECU connector, and see if you get any blinking lights on your gauge cluster. Seems like a misplaced vaccuum hose though since it happened after the simple task of installing an intake.

What kind of intake did you install?

Some intakes have a metal sleeve/pipe inside the filter that needs to be slid out and then inserted into the intake tubing, if you don't slide it out then you restrict the amount of air coming into your engine.

If it aint that then I would check all of your vacume lines, make sure they are connected to the right niples when you swapped things over, if you can get your hands on a vacume diagram then I recamend you do so, a helms would be great for this.

If it aint that then check your IAC..that might be the final culprit.

i had a similiar problem too... my car would launch forward by itself and rmp would jump up.. it is b cuz i put a nipple on the open air hole that was left open when i install the AEM air intake.. dunno know how to explain it... the stock intake has a couple of hoses attach to it..but the after market only has 1 which is connected to the valve cover..so leave the other open if it doesnt tell u to connect it to anything..that solve my issue..but i have a 92 Si...dunno about u...
