New Guy..problems

I just bought a 95 Prelude VTEC. Nice car, however I am having a problem with a burning oil smell. I have no visible leaks, or puddles under the car. There is a little smoke from the exhust upon startup in the mornings. Any thoughts...

Also, my drivers side (right hand side) window will not move. I can hear the motor running but the window is stuck. What do you guys think. This is my first Honda, and I hope it doesnt turn out to be a lemon!!

You could have a blown gasket somewhere which is where the oil is leaking and burning up from. If you don't see any visible leaks, the easiest way is to take it to a shop for a leak down test and they can pin point precisely where the leak is.

About your window, take off your door panal and inspect the window, it could just simply be off the track.

how many miles are on the car? The h22 has a poor rod to stroke ratio which will cause your piston rings to wear faster. I could visually notice the burning oil in mine around 200k miles.

Yeah, I had to replace my H22A1 after only 165k miles but I was buring/leaking oil badly.

I only have 120K on it. I would assume that it has many more to go. On another note...I have a really hard time getting it into 1st gear when the car is still moving...I can slow all the way down to idle speed in 2nd and still have to force it into 1st...any thoughts???

hmmm, syncro?

as far as the oil, i replaced my oil pan gasket last year - easy fix because it was leaking oil. drive "normal" and see how much your car burns

I try the "normal" driving and let you know how it goes. However, the "normal" part of that will be difficult. Normal for me is balls to the wall!

don't force it into 1st gear if you're still rolling, you'll bend something. It's supposed to be like that. Just like how you can't throw it into reverse while you're driving. You can only easily stick it into 1st if you're creepin real slow. Like you're about to go over a speed bump, slow... almost about to stop.
