Hey there I just wanted to say hey and ask a question, If y'all dont mind.
I have owned my 94 lude since mid January it only had 60k miles on it which for the city i live is is pretty good since we have to drive everywhere. My clutch went out about 2 weeks after I had the car, It was still the orignal clutch (pretty good no?) When I got my clutch re done I got some new brake pads as well. After I got the car back it was making a knocking noise, which I at first thought it was a CV joint, boy was I wrong. When they put my drive side tire back on they tightened the lug nuts tooooooo tight, and after about 1 weeks of driving it while it was knocking one of the lug nuts broke. and my tire flew off. It was then taken to the car shop that does the maintance to all of my familys hondas and while it was sitting there someone hit it from the back and took off. So after only having it since January and driving it until the mid of Feb, I got a new quarter pannel in the front and a whole new back end. I am excited to final get my lude baby back, So i dont have to drive a crapy honda crx 90 si. ARGG
So now that I have my car back I want to start doing modifications. I am not to big into the whole racing thing like my dad is but I know that i want to put and exhast and cool air intake on it. as well as 6 new speakers and some base tubes. Where should I start, what would be the best way to go.
hey crx's arent bad. id start with a CAI cuz u can get em and install em ur self then speakers then head unit then bass tube. but personaly all that just adds wieght and ur daddy wouldnt like that.
First of all welcome! As for cold air intakes, I would recommend either the AEM CAI, or the Injen CAI. Both give pretty much identical gains. As for exhaust, it depends on what exactly you want from it. Do you want a quiet one? A loud one? I have an RS*R and I love it, but you can't find them anymore unless you get really lucky and find a used one. Hopefully we can answer any and all of your questions you may have in the future.

Yea i know bass tubes will just weight down my car, and since I am only 110 pounds how much damage will one tube do? Maybe make it like a fat guy is riding in the car. So I think what I am gong to do is put in the bass tubes only after I get so man tickets and my dad makes me stop street racing. That will be a sad day for all of us, since I know how much people like getting beat by a chick. Thanks y'all
Yes yes yes I am back again. CRX is not a bad car, but it just drives like crap after you have been driving a 94 prelude, or a 94 accord. but maybe thats cause its a 90 crx si with 140k on it. but hey its still an si and it will pick up! any one wanna buy it?
You might want to start by replacing your intake. I'd suggest the AEM CAI, or even the AEM short ram intake if you wanna save some $$$. (BTW, short Ram sounds beautiful with the stock exhaust)

i love my CAI, get that as for an exhaust never had one, still on my stockie and love it looks, a header, and maybe pulleys for that low end. all that should get some decent power, and u can 4 sure beat most rice up civic

first things first, welcome to PO.com, second, is how fast do u want to go. i think the cai should be first on your list. after that, go for a drop, even on stock rims, it will make ur car more intimidating. most guys drool over girl in hooked up cars, even if it is just dropped and faster than theirs
to answer dflipmode yes my dad is into import racing. He used to do it for a living, until my younger brother was born, we have 2 nissan 280 zx a 1981 and a 1982 race car sitting in our drive way. That is pretty much all he runs now since those were they cars that he finished his racing life with. He still takes his 280zx out to dallas sometimes to race, but other then that he like to street race and mess with what he calls "zit faced rice burners". I am so lucky to have a dad that used to race, cause now I am learning the right way and the best way to drive my car, so i can spank you boys out there.
Fatallude I do not have stock rims on my car anymore I got alloy wheels that I love. And I do not plan on dropping my car anytime soon since I am 5'7'' and legs longer then anything i have a hard time getting out of my car in heels already. And after i run aginst a boy and i beat him i love to see the looks on their faces when they find out they got beat by a girl. I did that the other night i'll post the event under racing so make sure to look for me there!
well first of all welcome...i'm sure you'll find everyone here more than helpful. i know i have. one thing i've learned about prelude owners is that for the most part, they are on point and know what they're talking about. i would agree with everyone else that your first mod should be the CAI. Injen and AEM offer about the same gains, but I know a lot of people go with AEM because of their reputation (although Injen is just as good quality). I only have a regular WAI, but on the highway, when it hits WOT, it just changes in tone and sets me off
in any event, you're lucky to have a dad who's into the scene and will support your "hobby". i'm sure the look on those "zit faced rice burners" after you beat em is mastercard - ie priceless
have fun, be safe and let us know how your build up goes!

Hey! man I've got the same problem cause i just broke one of the bolt wheel which use to tight the wheel. Anyway, my question for you is what did they do to fix it? Do they just replace a new bolt wheel ?
here is a pic. from hondaautomotiveparts.com
number 24 on this picture is what im talking about. So, how much they charge you to replace that thing, u know?
thanks in advance

Speak of the devil! I just had new Yokohamas mounted on my car not one hour ago, and the stupid shop snapped off one of the bolts. Part, $5, labor, $20. Hell no I didn't pay; I'm gonna grab the bolt off a junked 'lude and put it on myself.

All you have to do is bang the old one out with a hammer since they push in from the back. Then just put the new one in. Takes maybe 15-20 minutes if you're slow.
