New drive shaft / axles wich to get

Hey

I recently got a 93 prelude 2.2 thing is, when i turn the car to the right, theres some sound from my Ball-joint, no clue if its the right word..
but its only when i turn the car around corners.. So my guess would be that it needs a replace, ofc i can drive it untill it breaks but..

Wich should i get as replace? I found these NEW HONDA PRELUDE M/T & A/T FRONT RIGHT CV AXLE 92 96:eBay Motors (item 120291708902 end time Aug-01-09 16:09:36 PDT)
But not sure if they are any good seems kinda cheap to me.

Regards Rasmus

Stay away from ebay. You can try to find some remanufactured ones locally from NAPA or Autozone, but they may be a crapshoot.

Some reputable companies:

Gator Racing Axles Drag Axles Street Axles

Raxles, America's premier supplier of OE quality CV Axles and CV joints | Raxles.com

Depends... I've gone through several remanufactured axles from Autozone/NAPA. Seem to last about a year and then they crap out... usually some bad vibration coming from the driveline when they do go bad.

If you guy a reman axle, make sure it has a lifetime warranty, so you can just exchange it for a new one (just keep your receipt on hand!)

I suggest a visual inspection of the damaged hardware. I did this the other day and saw that both my CV boots split in half. I called a local Honda Dealership and they quoted me $303 in labor charges to change the CV boot alone. That's more expensive than purchasing the axle assemblies and doing the job yourself.

I just ordered re-manufactured OEM parts from Majestic Honda (Majestic Honda - The Internet's #1 Honda Automotive Parts Store)

Part numbers: 06443-SS0-507RM and 06444-SS0-507RM

Total (including shipping): $269.22

I probably won't get them for a week or two, but I can send you some photos of them if you want.

well so far my friends had is on for 6 years now and going... no problems... you cant check the greese thats the point tho.. there is no reason to unclamp and check the greese... you just replace them when the boots torn and the shaft starts to click

Rasmusm,

I recently purchased both driver and passenger side axles for my 92 prelude Si from autopartswarehouse.com and they had free shipping for me. THESE ARE BRAND NEW OEM PARTS! not reman or after market ebay crap and I spent $182.00 where going to the local parts stores and the local dealer would have cost $181.80 per axel. check them out and see if they can help you.
