I recently got a 93 prelude 2.2 thing is, when i turn the car to the right, theres some sound from my Ball-joint, no clue if its the right word..
but its only when i turn the car around corners.. So my guess would be that it needs a replace, ofc i can drive it untill it breaks but..
those from advance auto parts, are they any good at that price then?
And btw, im not doing drag race or racing around a track at all its only for normal driving around
Depends... I've gone through several remanufactured axles from Autozone/NAPA. Seem to last about a year and then they crap out... usually some bad vibration coming from the driveline when they do go bad.
If you guy a reman axle, make sure it has a lifetime warranty, so you can just exchange it for a new one (just keep your receipt on hand!)
I suggest a visual inspection of the damaged hardware. I did this the other day and saw that both my CV boots split in half. I called a local Honda Dealership and they quoted me $303 in labor charges to change the CV boot alone. That's more expensive than purchasing the axle assemblies and doing the job yourself.
i just went thru advance auto and got my passanger for 75 and driver for 85 brand new no core exchange and with tax out the door... i went with gsp half shafts and ive never had any problem with them on my car or friends cars
well so far my friends had is on for 6 years now and going... no problems... you cant check the greese thats the point tho.. there is no reason to unclamp and check the greese... you just replace them when the boots torn and the shaft starts to click
I recently purchased both driver and passenger side axles for my 92 prelude Si from autopartswarehouse.com and they had free shipping for me. THESE ARE BRAND NEW OEM PARTS! not reman or after market ebay crap and I spent $182.00 where going to the local parts stores and the local dealer would have cost $181.80 per axel. check them out and see if they can help you.
440$ with shipping to denmark, was a cool deal! Prices for oem in denmark are like 900$... I was happy Glenn was able to help me out Havnt gotten em in the car yet will get em in next week i hope! No more strange clicking when turning the car around corners
yeah i agree with Gloc you should try NAPA..try this site DELETED for your PRELUDE M/T & A/T FRONT RIGHT CV AXLE.. they offered low cost of shipping and some of their products are discounted.. you can check them now..
