Are you sure about this Mark? I never saw a 4th gen without a third brakelight.

Mark is right. My friends 94 prelude 4ws with factory standard spoiler has a spoiler brake light and no roof light. My 92 prelude 4ws has a factory standard spoiler with no brake light; and my 3rd brake light is on the roof.

Jake, it is a law that newer cars have to have a third brake light (which I'm sure you know). In 92-93 model preludes the third brake light was always on the roof no matter if you had a spoiler or not.
In the 94-96 Preludes the third brake light was incorporated into the spoiler. If someone purchased an S or Si model without the spoiler Honda had to put the third brake light somewhere, so it was placed on the roof like the 92-93 models. If an S or Si model was purchased with the spoiler then it had the brake light in the spoiler and not on the roof. 94-96 VTEC models came standard with the factory spoiler so they always had the brake light in the spoiler.
Ahh - so that's it. I had a spoiler with a 3rd brake light, as well as the roof 3rd brake light. I guess the spoiler was an after thought. Anyone has a picture of a lude without a third brake light? I'm trying to get rid of mine but it will leave an unattractive hole in the rear of the interior roof.

Mark, Can you confirm that the SI 4WS had a standard factory spoiler? Both my 92 si 4ws and my friends 94 si 4ws have factory spoilers, so I suspect both our previous owners didnt not get them as optional equipment. This is my hunch, since the 4ws are a bit upgraded. Also can you confirm if the 94-96 4ws had leather standard like the VTECs? Cuase all the 94-96 4ws i have seen have leather. And I doubt it is a coincedence, cause most of the 92-93 4ws have leather.

Why dont you just remove the bulbs or disconnect the wire to the light. If the roof light isnt functioning, I dont think the actual rectangle that houses it would is very noticalble from the exterior.

That I'm not too sure of. I know that the 4WS models were an "upgraded" version of Si's. For instance the 92-94 4WS Preludes came through standard with Dual airbags while dual airbags were options on Si's. Starting in 94, I think all preludes regardless of trim - S, Si, VTEC had dual airbags. 4WS Preludes were only produced until 94 BTW. With this in mind, I would believe that the 4WS models all came through with a spoiler. My previous 93 4WS Prelude had a factory spoiler as well.
I don't think that 4WS Preludes had standard leather, it was an option. 94-96 VTEC Preludes were the only Preludes to have standard leather. 93 VTECS didn't have standard leather from the factory but I believe it was an option for that year. Leather was probably an option for all 92-94 4WS models.

Hmm...4WS with leather? I've seen 3 of them and they all had cloth
As for the brake light - I did do that. It's just that I know it there. Anal mentality=]
