Need some info on O2 sensor/knock sensor

allright here goes. As some of you may know I put a crower stage 2 (w/ stock idle lob) cam in the lude. well after I got the car up and running (two weeks now). It has been runnig good but only when it first starts to maybe about 10 minutes worth of driving. Then it feels like it goes into a limp mode sorta and No check engine light comes on (i wish it did). VAFC is not tuned. It seems to happen when the car gets warmed up after 10-15 minutes drive. It so wierd because the power feels awesome when it first starts up pulls so good. I talked to the shop and they guy said it was the cam, Making me loose that much low end. When in fact I know I gained low end like a mofo. I think from searching it might be a O2 sensor or perhaps a knock sensor. I need to figure this out because I just got through the break in period on the cams and I wanna go to the dyno and see what these cams have done for me. NE info would help out. BTW I do have the vtec engagement set at 4900 it feels so good with the cam at this point.

Matt

Butt dyno doesn't really tell you anything...and if you have stock idles lobes how can you say you gained low end?? Wouldn't performance be the same? Maybe they changed the ramp speeds but that's it isn't it?

Satan-Yeah I believe the low end feels better. Although it could just be the butt dyno thing like you said. I mean in fifth in the low end of the rpms it feels like it pulls better. Wouldn't I be on a different cam lob at this point?. I still think it pulls better in first too. but time will tell I guess. Like i said I wanna get it on a real dyno to know for sure

But thats niether here no there if I can't solve the bogging I am feeling after she has run for a little while. ne ideas?

I gotta get my voltmeter and test the o2 wires tonight. How bout the knock sensor wires what should be the correct voltage coming out of that. I know I gotta give it gas while testing both correct?

Anyone have any ideas?? I was not able to get the volt meter out last night. Thus tonight I will. I am debating if it is the knock sensor or 02 sensor. If anyone has had these symptoms or like symptons what did you do to fix it. Thanks

Matt

No the changing of the cam lobe is what VTEC is. you are on the stock idle cam always, unless you are over 5000ish rpms the right throttle position and have enough oil pressure.

OK cool.

But do you have any ideas as to what I am going through now. I got a mechanic wanting to charge 70 an hour to "check it out". I agree its better to find out the problem before just throwing new parts at it but for 150 i can buy all the new parts.

What's happeniong is that when you first start up the car you are in open loop mode where it ignores a bunch of your sensors...after warm up it goes into closed loop and starts reading them...that is where your problems start. It is defintely sensor related.

Thanks for the info Joel. That is definitly whats going on. I think I am just leaning towards throwing parts it it before I have some mechanic tell me thats what it is in fact. I think I will start with the o2 sensor and go from there. I will check it out on the volt meter tonight. Thanks agian
