Need some info on 4th gen vtecs

Ok, I know the fourth gens are the fastest ludes and I need to know what quarter mile times one could hit with a intake and exhaust.

I now own a RSX Type-S and I'm trying to support my argument with a fellow clubrsxer that the fourth gen with an intake is not going to be beaten easily, if at all by a stock type-s.

So any info would help me out in defending the ludes reputation. Thanks

-Skinny

BTW, for those that don't know about RSX's, the type-s can get into the high 14's stock if well driven, but I'm sure a 4th gen vtec with I/E could do the same?

14.5 would be pushing it, but not out of the question.

Wow, really?

I was saying it would be able to break into the high 14's, like 14.8 or 14.9.

I hope this is true to help my argument

Anyone able to back this up?

I think stock for stock the 4G VTEC and RSX-S are pretty well matched. It would come down to drivers. BUT, when you get into mods, the RSX-S starts to leave us behind. RSX-S's take so well to mods it's just insane. But, true a 4G VTEC won't be beaten easily by an RSX-S--close match.

Yeah, it'll be a drivers race, especially if the VTEC is a swapped JDM H22.

The RSX still pulls in 3rd gear; more so than the lude.

right off hand it should be a torque battle, with the lude having more, but not much... then the rsx-s would pull in top end.

with skilled drivers in both it would be very close. but by all means an rsx-s would NOT blow our doors off.

with a good driver, a bone stock (no intake or exhaust) 4th gen vtec will break 14's... it's been done over and over.

I don't personally have any experiance with the new RSX Type-S', bt I'd imagine it's about the same. So like everyone else stated, it's a drivers game there. With the intake and exhaust on the Prelude, it'll be just that much harder to beat

Thanks for your help guys. I might own an RSX now, but I had my lude for three years and I still consider myself a lude owner.

I get so pissed when these guys think the Type-S is so much faster than everything, granted we mod very well, but stock it still has 200hp and mod compatability is irrelevent.
