need some help/advice

Just 2 days ago my car starts doing some weird stuff. In idle it kind of sputters and misses and when I accelerate it goes a little then sputters/misses and then goes pretty good. There is a loud screeching noise that seems to be coming from my distributor so Im assuming that that is the problem, perhaps something broke off or came loose in there or something. So my question is, is there an easy way to fix this? And if I have to replace it, what is the best performance replacement as far as distributor/plugs/wires.

I know pretty much for sure its the distributor. The thing never screeched before and whenever it does thats when the problem starts. Sometimes it wont screech and it will run fine, but then the noise starts and all of a sudden my car runs like ass.

take off the cap and look for any dust or metal shavings. Screeching from there usually means the bearings are giving way. If it's that, you should hope that the distributor doesn't seize while driving... Check it out asap.

I got an appointment at my honda dealership for thursday. My check engine light has started to come on so that has me worried. All I have to do is make it through today. This sucks that this is happening two weeks before Tuner Bash / Spring break in PCB!!!! I just hope I can get it fixed in time.

Fawk!!!! My distributor seized on me so I had to push it a few blocks to my house... I ordered another, put it on, and started it up no problem and it ran smooth as hell, until my car warms up then the thing just turns off. I took it in again and they said the one I put on is also defective! So Im without a lude indefinitely...

But I guess thats what I get for ordering off ebay. First my cat-back is 6 inches too long and now this...

Oh yeah but I did end up going to Tuner Bash anyway and it kind of sucked but they did have some pretty pimp cars there and it was right by the beach so that was cool...

yeah yeah lesson learned. But Honda wanted 490 dollars to get one and put it on, which I dont have to spend.
