Need Simple questions ansewered!

I just got a Prelude (1992) silver, the guys I bought it from dident tell me much about it, it has high miles and i got it for a really good deal. Anyways in my regristration and in my hand book it says nothing about weather it is and Si or S, or if the engine is 2.0, 2.2, 2.3 etc., so my question is how do you know weather it is an Si or not and what is the engine size.

Open your hood and look straight at the engine see the valve cover? now look towards the left of the valve cover and then scan down on the head of the engine, you will see a square with either f22, h22 or h23

they are

f22: single cam 2.2 non vtec whic is the S model

h23: dual overhead cam 2.3 non vtec which is the SI model

h22: dual overhead cam 2.2 VTEC which is the SIVTEC model or just VTEC

i know there is a f22b which is a dual cam but that is only in japan...and the SI4ws which is an SI with 4 wheel steering..

I paid 3000 for it and it has 130,000 miles on it, runs great everything is in perfect condition except the carpet is a little used up looking, when i bought it i really dident know all that much about engines all i knew was that i wanted a Honda and it looked like a good deal. take a look at www.geocities.com/willhoman

Thats a hell of a clean looking lude for the money you spent on it. I paid 3700 3 weeks ago for mine 92 SI. And it has 150,000 on the body and 20,000 on the engine, it needs a new finder(the old owner backed into it), so many rock chips the whole front end needs a new paint job. Again it looks like you got a hell of a deal.

It looks really good! I think you got a good deal. Did the interior come that way, or did you do it? (Steering wheel, shift boot, knob, etc.)

Nothing much. I had Type S cams, but I sold them. Pretty much just bolt-ons for now(i/h/e). I'm getting the J-Spec H22A soon, so I'm not doing anything else to this motor. For now I'm concentrating on my CRX. It's my project car, and it's going to be faster than the Prelude anyways. I'm trying to sell my old VTEC motor. Anyways, you made a good choice with your car! Be sure to post pics when you mod her.

Hey Preludechic what have you done to your CRX. My brother has been building a 89 DX, he still can't beat me but once he gets his swap done it should be pretty beasty.

It sucks where I live, no one will hire anyone thats 15, so i'm stuck stock for right now.
