You could buy cheap pep boys pads and hav squeay brakes, or you could spend a little more at the dealer and have better stopping, silent brakes...

How much and what do you want from them?
I hear for rotors (brembo blanks or OEM) Colletti Motorsports is the cheapest.

Typical price for a 4G Si (at least what I had gotten them for) is $70-75.
For pads, it really depends on who makes them. I think AEM pads are ~$40?
Porterfield R4S will run you ~$100
Hawk+ are ~$70
Those are for a pair.

I'm now considering:

94-95 Legend 2 piston calipers
VTEC 11.2" Rotors
AEM pads to match

how's that sound?

much better than stock?

i'm still not sure how much more stopping power the legends give me, gotta bleed my brakes again. but as far as durability, i would think the larger rotors and pads would last longer and be less likely to warp.

I'm still waiting on pads for my legend calipers. Hopefully the calipers paired with the vtec rotors will help braking performance. Ask member Kevie88, he's done the swap and has lots of knowledge in this area.

Guys, be sure to get caliper carriers with those. Calipers. Vtec rotors require a vtec caliper carrier due to the increased diameter. Just thought I would offer. I have got the VTEC up grade w/ powerstop rotors. (cross driiled brembo discs) Had to get my caliper carriers from japan. Non found in the states. At least I could't those with the connections will be able to get them.

Good luck,

Tom

I forgot what the correct term is, but I think he is talking about the piece that holds the caliper to the rotor

Thanks del.

So DO you need the "caliper carrier" for the legend calipers or no?

Also, does anyone think I can get the calipers from my local parts store, and then return my Si calipers as the core? I can get both fronts for $120

This is the setup I used until I installed my AEM Big Rotor kit..

It works great and I found that I had more brakes than tires...

The Legend GS caliper usses the same pad as the VTEC caliper. but you need to make a shim. I used the metal backing from a worn out set of pads as a shim by just grind iff the remina pad material..

The "caliper carrier" people are talking about is the slider frame. (the part without the pistons in it)

You do not need to change the master cylinder.. however I would suggest Stainless steel lines and Ford DOT 3 Fluid.

BTW when you ger rebuilt calipers from a store you don't get the slider.. I have heard that the Vtec Slider will fit tho, however ther may not be enough "throat" for the rotor to slide though with new pads. For sure you will not need shims if you try this route..
