Need help with your opinion/experience about tein and skunk2 spring

Hey there,

I am in the market to buy a set of well known brand lowering springs or any brand anything from your opinion/experince

a set of tein spring (Part number SKA40-AUB00 for 92-96 HONDA PRELUDE, Spring Rate: 224/207 lbs/in, andDrop: 1.1/1.2 inches)

TEIN S.TECH LOWERING SPRINGS HONDA PRELUDE 92-96 | eBay

OR

a set of skunk2 spring (519-05-1660 1992-01 PRELUDE (ALL MODELS) 2.25 - 2.00")

PRELUDE 92-01 SKUNK2 SKUNK 2 LOWERING SPRINGS - eBay (item 120587274695 end time Aug-17-11 00:44:01 PDT)

I am not sure which one, but all I know is I don't want my lude to be slammed like when I turn the steering wheel full right or left (doesnt matter) tire will touch my fender. Thats the kind I don't for my lude. All I want is reasonable low. Like maybe half or one inch between the tire and the fender. I talked to my friend who have experience with skunk2 springs. He said that ordering skunk2 spring will not what I want/expect because he ordered a set for his ek sedan. it stated 2 inch drop in front and 2.25 inch drop in rear so he installed on his ek sedan and end up look like stock spring! Just maybe under half inch drop, but not even big difference. I don't know which one that will get my lude low, but not touch my tires. I AM NOT INTERESTED INTO CHEAPASS COILOVER.

Please help and million thanks!

Cheap coilovers? Springs are the cheap way out, especially if you ride on them with the OEM struts which will cause them to fail. Save up for a nice set of coilovers, you'll be way happier, then you can adjust ride height and dampening for any situation.

I don't want ebay **** coilovers due bounce badly when i had my civic even with brand new struts. Ofc, I would like to have a set of tein/skunk2/d2/kpower coiloverk, but around 600 buck being used and near a grand for new. thats crazy, so spring is the only way or anyone recommend me what setup i should go?

Unsure, I have tein coilovers, never had just lowering spings cause my buddies car had them and it sucked but it was probably cause they were on stock struts so even though it wasn't that low if he went over a dip in the road the wheels would still smack the fender well.

what does tein coilover look like? the coilover one that built in with the strut? If no, can you find a pic off google to show exact the same as your so I can get the idea what your setup.

EDIT: Never mind I got it. It is nice setup, but unfortunately, its out of my price range and plus I don't need to do height adjustment because all the bumps/****ed up road in Orlando, so I will be good with the springs. Thanks!

I spent hours research about skunk2 and tein springs off all forums. If I want to go skunk2 springs routie, I MUST replace the oem shocks and ALL camber kit because skunk2 spring will be insane low. Otherwise the tires go bad, ****ed up camber kit, and blown shocks. It will be same in the future if I go for new oem shocks and no name aftermarket camber kits. Will be good if I buy well known brand shocks like KYB/Koni/etc and well know brand aftermarket camber kit that goes 500 for everything but I do not have the money for that. I do have the money for the oem shocks/aftermarket no name camber kits, but will go bad in the future IF with skunk2 springs... so not worth it. If I want to go to tein s tech springs routie, then I am ok keeping the stock camber kit and oem shocks as long as I ride smooth. (current oem shocks and camber kits are still good) Not if race or drive hard which I don't. The prelude is a DD.. so dont get mad if I drive low, lol. I will get better quailty ride and reasonable low if I go on current oem shocks and camber kits. Best quailty ride if new oem shocks and no name aftermarket camber kit. So, on the thread, i stated I want reasonable low, not tires touching the fender when I make full turn so tein s tech springs is the way to go.

minilogoguy, thanks for your opinion/experince!

You don't need a camber kit, maybe just for the rear, just get an alignment done, the toe is what really eats the tires.
