when i put the car in first gear and start driving the car drives fine but when i start to shift to other gears (2,3,4) it seems to be sliping? The car would rev up but doesn't seem to speed up a take maybe a few seconds for the car to speed up .........from my description dose it sound like a transmission problem or a clutch problem?...... thanks in advance for any help

You can't be so vague when asking that question. What are your power goals with your prelude? Budget?

I agree, sounds like the clutch disc has been worn. I'm guessing you have to rev up to like 2k or 3k before you're even moving. My recommendation for a clutch package is Exedy. Thats the brand Honda uses (which is what you get when you purchase one from their parts department) and if you check out the sponsor forum on Honda-tech, they usually have great deals going on for clutches.

Just fyi when you get it change or change it yourself:

Most new clutches come with a new throwout bearing and i've seen some that don't. Just make sure it comes with one, it will make your life a whole lot better. Same goes for the clutch alignment tool.

It's also worthy to consider getting your rear main seal replaced and other little things.
